Beyond 3D has a review of the Ti 4200 Okay, That's it! I'm getting one of these things already. My birthday is in 2 DAYS! Ohh, anyway...
The GeForce4 Ti 4200 is based on the NV25 chip, the same chip as the other Ti cards, which means that the 4200 brings all the DirectX8.1 functionality as well. The main differences between the Ti 4200 and the others is in the core clock speed and the memory clock and configurations. There are two variants of the Ti 4200 to be made available, both having a core clock speed of 250Mhz (50Mhz lower than that of the high end Ti 4600), but one will be available with 64MB of 250Mhz DDR Ram and another with 128MB of 222Mhz DDR RAM (in BGA form). It’s expected that the US prices for these boards will be in the order of $179 for the 64MB board and $199 for the 128MB board; I’m told the UK price of the 64MB board is to be in the region of £160 to £180 (inc. VAT); however, remember this is nVIDIA’s estimate and it’s up to the board vendors to decide on final pricing.
